VE Day Silhouette Commission

The Woodwork group have been busy working on a special commission for the Knaresborough Town Council, to produce a silhouette celebrating VE day. It portrays a soldier, and mother and daughter, celebrating the end of World War II in Europe.
This was a great honor to be asked to be involved in this project, and the event was marked by the Mayor of Knaresborough Margy Longhurst, joining the students to launch the installation outside Knaresborough House.
The group have also been been commissioned to produce 10 batons for use by the Knaresborough tour guides. We hope this will be the start of a great partnership with the Council and we aim to be involved in future projects.
